We travel through the city from West to East, from the neighbourhood of the Discoveries in Belém, to Parque das Nações, site of EXPO/98 and a symbol of Lisbon’s modernity.
Along the way we visit the Viewpoint of the Eduardo VII Park and the Baixa Pombalina and then cross the medieval quarter of Alfama, next to S. Jorge’s Castle and the Cathedral.
After picking you up in your hotel we drive to Belém, the district of the 16th century Portuguese Discoveries. You can enjoy the facade of the majestic Jeronimos Monastery and the imposing Torre de Belém, looking for the historical meaning of what you see. You will hear talking about the Portuguese Discoveries, the Manuel I's reign, the manueline artistic style and more. In Belém also is worth a visit the famous pastry shop where is made the custard tart of Belém.
Visit to the Royal Palace of Ajuda, a permanent residence for last members of the portuguese royal family, that was built in the site of a temporary wooden building constructed to house the Royal family after the 1755 earthquake and tsunami.
Then our car will welcome you to take you to Parque Eduardo VII where you can admire a magnificent panoramic view of the downtown, St. George Castle and the gardens of the Park.
Crossing through the city center, you will have the opportunity to admire the Pombaline buildings, raised in the aftermath of the earthquake of the 18th century by the Marquis of Pombal.
We continue our journey towards the Tagus passing close to the medieval Alfama district.
We end our tour with a walk in Parque das Nações where you will have the opportunity to know the modern architecture of Lisbon and the famous buildings of Lisbon Oceanarium, Oriente Railway Station, Casino de Lisboa, Knowledge Pavilion, the Vasco da Gama Bridge and much more.
